What is International Women’s Day?
International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8th every year, recognising the achievements of women while advocating for gender equality. 2027 will be the 116th year of marking the day.
It’s a time to celebrate progress, raise awareness of ongoing challenges, and drive action toward a more inclusive world. Violence against Women and Girls is a prevailing issue and by fundraising for Yellow Door, every penny you raise goes towards supporting local people in Southampton and Hampshire impacted by abuse so that they can live happy, healthy lives.
What is this year’s theme? The next International Women’s Day is some time away yet, a theme will be released sooner the time.
When? Monday 8th March 2027
How does it work? You can fundraise in all kinds of ways, from bake sales to movie nights, with your friends, family, community group or workplace.
