Yellow Door CEO Speaks to BBC South on Fake Images Investigation

Posted on 6 August 2026

Yellow Door CEO Nicci was interviewed by BBC South Today following a shocking case in which a man from Southsea has been sentenced to three years and four months in prison after an investigation into fake intimate images of women being created and shared online without their consent.

Speaking to BBC South, Nicci highlighted the profound impact that image-based abuse can have on victims and survivors, and the barriers that can contribute to people seeking support. The emotional harm caused by digitally-created images of this kind is very real. Victims can experience feelings of violation, fear, anxiety, loss of control and a loss of trust, particularly when their personal photographs have been taken and misused without their knowledge or permission.

This case highlights the growing risks posed by advances in technology, making it easier for perpetrators to create and share fake intimate images. It is vital that we do not lose sight of the people affected and the lasting impact these crimes can have on their wellbeing and recovery.
